YCN BRIEF // Yahoo

I have chosen to replace my fourth brief which was doing the branding, identity, promotion and web page design with a YCN competition brief; Yahoo.

I felt that my previous brief was not going to give me enough scope for design, it was a large brief and I was spreading myself too thinly. I wanted to include a competition brief and this brief is focused on web design, which is a skill that I am learning so it will be incredibly benifical for me to do this. I also felt that with all 4 of my significant brief, that design outcomes are very print based and I had not included enough web and screen based design. This brief gives me the opportunity to do this. It is also the complete opposite from my Curious Eats brief which is a brief aimed at a very specific target audience, while the Yahoo brief is aimed at a very large target audience, hence it will be more challenging. It will help me develop my layout and communication skills as well as my software skills.
