Starting off the briefs

A few starting points, research and areas that I need to cover for each brief...

CURIOUS EATS

I want to brand and promote this new catering agency. George Cavendish is a professionally trained Chef who is setting up his own catering agency as well as growing and making his own food / recipes / produce. He has a website for Curious Eats at the present but no true identity for the business, and no business cards. I want to make his accent look and feel more professional through branding and identity and printed promotion.

  • The competition
  • Behind the brand, what makes this agency better
  • Character of the brand
  • Appearance of other catering, chef and restaurant logos
  • Research into imagery to use
  • Strap line...do I need to use one for this type of branding.
  • Colours...how many and which are appropriate.
  • Information needed; recipes, menus, photographs, contact details.
  • Stocks for editorial,
  • Research into other recipe books, zines, catalogues for food.
  • Direction for design development
  • Deli produce labels
  • Food products; what does he make, flavours, etc
  • Events for the pop up shop; where and who are the products being sold to or eaten by?

AMORE SHAMPOO & OIL RANGE

This is a new range of Australian range of shampoos and oils that has been created and they need the branding and packaging for. I found this brief on "DESIGNCROWD" and have taken the live aspect out of it and giving myself a couple of weeks to develop the brand, logo and a range of packaging for. I will be exploring different stocks of packaging, not just paper based; but also looking at the effect of transparent and translucent materials.

  • Explore a more illustrative typeface; femanaine, curves and decorative
  • Research comptetative products and hair product packaging designs
  • What do the bottles look like
  • hand rendered logos and computer rendered.
  • Colour combinations
  • Strapline for the brand
